Ingredients for 4 Servings
- 500 ml of very strong coffee
- 6 tablespoons of sugar
- seeds from half a vanilla bean
- 75 ml of STROH 60 or STROH 40 – depending on preference
- 150 ml of heavy cream (or alternatively, whole milk)
Preparation
- Prepare 500 ml of strong coffee.
- Scrape the seeds from half a vanilla bean and mix them with the sugar and STROH into the coffee.
- Pour the STROH-coffee-mixture into a wide bowl and freeze it for three to four hours. Stir it with a whisk intermittently to prevent even freezing.
- Once a coarse sorbet texture forms (after approximately three hours), stir it with a fork and fill it into glasses.
- Pour heavy cream or whole milk over the granita and enjoy it immediately, ice-cold.
